 The Abra river is vital to irrigation for palay and corn fields and water supply for cattle breeding in San Antonio,Banyacao areas.

The Road Networks

    Some of my shots during my regular travel to Abra municipalities . Abra inhabitants were the ancestors of the Bontocs and the Ifugaos. They left to settle in the old Mountain Province. Other early inhabitants were the Tingguians, or Itnegs, The first name of Abra is El Abra de Vigan "The Opening of Vigan" as what it's name was it is the gateway to Vigan Ilocos Sur.Now road networks projects by the provincial administration are connecting municipalities to the main point Bangued.I can travel from Nagaparan to Bangued in 30minutes minimum.The road being completed in Nagaparan Danglas will connect Abra to Ilocos Norte . This will improve trades and business opportunities in the province.

       The Province of Abra is now known as the ""Natural Dye Capital of the Philippines"" because it is blessed with abundant natural dye-yielding plants. Natural dyes are extracted from the barks, leaves, fruits, and roots of these plants, and used to color food, beverages, textiles, cosmetics, furniture, and pharmaceutical products. source: www.tourism.gov.ph    Abra is now emerging as one of the Philippines rich province in natural resources.We see a continuous improvement on LGU and Abrenian NGOs working hand in hand to achieve the goal.   

8th Kawayan Festival and 98th Year Foundation Day Celebration

     Bangued,Abra - The biggest celebration of the province - 8th Kawayan (Bamboo) Festival and 98th Foundation Day was a hit.

    The very successful and peaceful Kawayan Festival 2015 was recognized and was featured on international network UNTV Channel37 Ito Ang Balita . The event have proven to the world that Abra is a great tourist destination located in the heart of (CAR)Cordillera Administrative Region.
